Imagination is vital, I'll give you that. And aspirations, without them we'd all lie in bed and die. But holidays foster false hope. It's pathetic. How many people do you think actually reach their dreams? Virtually none. Little Billy realizes that he can't really save the world, so he settles for wishing for a beer every night. How admirable.

And for the rest of us, those who do have ambitions, what good is the holiday, really? It doesn't get us any closer to our goals. If anything, it distracts us.
