Something is Coming for You

This city. The entire city of Desai is a churning mass of time and space anomalies. Universes crashing together and colliding. People who shouldn't be alive, people who should never have been here, coming and going, seeing things they should never have encountered. Traces of so many particles in the air, on the people, the technologies. All this movement through time and space and parallel universes and its effects are becoming clearer to me. The Tardis could feel it, brought me here for a reason. I don't know what that reason is yet. But I am going to find out.

In past trips I let it slide. I continued onward, because I did not, do not, fully understand what was happening. I should have paid closer attention to the signs.

Something is coming. Something drawn to this place like a moth to a flame. Places like this do not exist with out consequences. Things out there are noticing you. Dangerous things. Things you can only imagine in your deepest darkest nightmares.

No matter the world, or worlds, every crossroad--literal or allegorical--has it's price, Doctor. The larger the crossroad; the more significant the roads... the higher the price. It is dangerous to halt one's journey and remain at a crossroad for too long a time. That is, of course, exactly why many people do just that.

Don't think I'll let this go that easily. You lot are dealing with very dangerous things. You could poke holes in the very fabric of time until it unravels and universe after universe crash down on top of each other.

Well. Isn't that the nature of all things, Doctor? No war, no government, no growth, no existence- without the inevitable toll on all things concerned. There are those who say the Universes never asked to be created and yet it was, and every living being will forever pay the price by eternal joy and suffering both. This, regardless of it's own sins or wishes. Thus is the nature of existence.

That aside, Doctor, I understand you more than you know. I admire your effort and passion yet I doubt there is much I can do to help.

Let's start with the basics, shall we. Time lines altered, information that doesn't belong taken to and from one world, universe, time, to another. You have species and technology where they don't belong. Universes colliding with each other that were never meant to touch.

Imagine your world is surrounded by a perfect sphere of glass. Every time you drag something through time or space you put another hole in that sphere, creating cracks that spread and grow. Getting worse and worse until it shatters into a million tiny shards.

Dragging? Oh, dear, it seems you have some misconceptions about how this place works...

We discovered this technology many years ago, and it has been used for a very long time to establish relations. Why, this way people can experience cultures and worlds they never could have even imagined otherwise. Some of the people here have been so trapped by their world, and Desai gives them the opportunity to explore new things.

I assure you that we have many years of experience in maintaining these "cracks" as you put them. Chaos is an inevitable part of life, darling. Our technology is extremely advanced, and is still evolving. Any experiences that may be perceived as "negative" must be seen as simply unconventional for many, many people.

For the people of Desai, like myself, it's as simple as a hurricane or any other natural disaster. It is simply a part of life.

I hate to say this, but you're absolutely right. I felt that as well, but being cryptic about it won't help anything. Time and space converging and collapsing, worlds caving in and destroying themselves, parallel worlds that shouldn't exist; it all sounds as though you're speaking of the coming of certain destroyer of worlds. I won't believe it until I see whatever is coming with my own eyes, but there is definitely a problem with the amount of time and space anomalies existing in this place. Heck, even Desai's existence itself is an anomaly.

Whatever you say is coming, I'll stop it.
