It's Bigger on the Inside.
The Doctor's ship. Semi-sentient and linked to The Doctor empathically, the Tardis can, at times, make decisions for itself, protecting it's crew, keeping out ill-intentioned intruders, providing inhabitants with the understanding of languages of the area it was located in and even projecting feelings onto the inhabitants in times of crisis or danger.
Designed for time and space travel via the Time Vortex. It used its dematerialization circuit to dematerialize and re-materialize at will into the Vortex. The Type 40 was actually designed to be operated by six pilots working as a team. When fully crewed, it is capable of remarkable feats, including towing an entire planet through time and space
The TARDIS' outer plasmic shell had the properties of a solid conventional object. With its chameleon circuit, it can change shape. The TARDIS seemed to weigh roughly the same as the object it was disguised as, rather than manifesting the immense theoretical weight the interior possessed. The Doctor's ship is almost impervious to brute force attacks. The Doctor once stated to Rose that "the assembled hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door".
The HADS (Hostile Action Displacement System) is one of the defense mechanisms of the ship. If the outer shell comes under attack, the unit dematerializes the TARDIS and re-materializes it a short distance away, in a safer locale.

Psychic Paper
A blank, white card that had special properties. When shown to a person, it can usually induce them to see whatever the user wishes them to see printed on it. It can even be used to open doors in place of a keycard.
In the hands of an untrained user the paper is prone to displaying facts they subconsciously wanted the reader to be aware of, often leading to embarrassment.
Individuals with powerfully creative minds also seem to be immune to the effect of the paper, although this only occurs in truly exceptional cases.
[Over the sounds of things sparking and metal smashing against metal, the low , sickly thrum of the Heart of the Tardis can be heard just faintly, followed by a fast-paced and excited voice.]

The video feed inside The Tardis clicks on. The Doctor is leaning on the console. He doesn't look his usual self. His clothing is still tattered and frayed and his eyes are dull and tired. When he finally decides to look at the lens, he looks as though he means to say something, but he just shakes his head and clicks the video off.

Further Investigation Necessary
May. 29th, 2011 02:30 pmIt's good to see Arthur is unharmed, despite the claims made during the latest temporal event. Strange though. Usually temporal events like that one don't rewrite entire timelines. The fluctuations of time and space in this city seem to be drastic merging and unmergings of multiple universes at various points of time leaving an imprint of the actions and memories of one upon another. Which makes me wonder where I was during these past few days. Was I lying dormant in the mind of my other universal self or does he now hold my memories?
I warned you about the cracks, Desai. This is not just a random occurrence to be waived off, and I believe you know that. Time and space is in constant flux around this particular point, and it is tearing holes into the fabric of the universe. Try and deny it all you please, the evidence is all around us. Whatever events take place in the future, whatever cracks continue to open up, they do not just threaten this place. They threaten all of time.
I will not stop until I have found out what is causing this. That is a promise.

Apr. 20th, 2011 10:36 pmThe Doctor is leaning on the main console of his TARDIS, staring at the camera and fiddling with his latest whimzimajig gizmo (Technical term!). He looks as though he is going to say something then stops, frowning. He heaves a big sigh instead and turns around to fiddle with the TARDIS controls. After a moment of jiggery-pokery he finally turns back around and takes a few more steps toward the camera, leaning in.
"I hereby tender my resignation from the University." With that he reaches out of view and the feed clicks off.

My sincere apologies, but I'm going to have to reschedule this week's field trip to The Library to Friday.
We will only be gone from Desai for half an hour, to avoid schedule conflicts, however I suggest you all bring along a change of clothes. We'll be spending a day and a half in the library.

Something is Coming for You
Dec. 16th, 2010 10:09 pmThis city. The entire city of Desai is a churning mass of time and space anomalies. Universes crashing together and colliding. People who shouldn't be alive, people who should never have been here, coming and going, seeing things they should never have encountered. Traces of so many particles in the air, on the people, the technologies. All this movement through time and space and parallel universes and its effects are becoming clearer to me. The Tardis could feel it, brought me here for a reason. I don't know what that reason is yet. But I am going to find out.
In past trips I let it slide. I continued onward, because I did not, do not, fully understand what was happening. I should have paid closer attention to the signs.

The Doctor is sitting on the floor of the Tardis, leaning against the central console. In the background the soft hum of the organic machine fills the air. He looks tired, his usual cheerful grin no where to be seen, as he sits there with nothing but his own thoughts to distract him. Covering his face with his hands he lets them slide up and through his hair, leaving a mess of half flopped spikes of hair in their wake.
With a sigh he drops his hands and gets to his feet. Circling the console he turns a knob there, lifts a lever here until he is halfway around the machine. He stops again and just leans on it, staring off at nothing in particular. Finally noticing the camera pointed at him he heads over to it, grabbing the long brown coat draped over the console on his way. His hand reaches for the camera with a frown and the feed goes black.

Time: Classes take place Wednesdays between 12:15pm and 2:15pm Desai time.
It is recommended you bring a lunch on field trip days. Our first field trip will be December the 8th.1
Attendance: Is Mandatory. I will be taking roll at the beginningand end of every class
Books: Are strongly recommended. Read plenty of them. However, I will not be assigning any for this class.
Curriculum:
