The Doctor is sitting on the big desk at the front of the class, watching the students file in. After they have taken their seats (Or the majority of them at least) he clears his throat and leans forward.

"'Ello there, class. Welcome to Universal History 101. Hope you all brought your brains along. You're going to need them." His voice is cheery and he's got a grin like he really enjoys doing this, which may or may not be the case. Either way, he hops to his feet, walking around the desk.

"I'm Dr. John Smith, Professor of Universal History and Time and Relative Space. Right then, speaking of introductions, let's have a little role call, shall we?"

---

The following is an OOC summary of the day's class

Class summary:

The Doctor does a quick role call, asking students to give a brief introduction of themselves as per usual 'first class' standards. Mostly because he's fairly certain the other staff is still watching his class closely.

Discussion of the day covers the vast expanse of the universe and how events at one point in the universe can affect the events at another. Topics include a brief touching on the difference of lifestyle, morals, ethics and society rules between planets of various galaxies. Most notably the difference between speech-reliant planets like earth, non-verbal planets like Delphon and warring planets like Sontar. He gets a bit long winded halfway through this discussion and goes off into a rambling of the eyebrow language of Delphon and, later, the Sontaran war clones.

As the end of class comes around he makes an announcement regarding the following week's class. The first field trip. The field trip will be to China Town [Desai native]. He comments on the fact that nearly every human planet has a China-town and that the point of this field trip is to observe the way traditions hold up despite distance or time from their place of origin. Culture and tradition have a marvelous way of holding on to existence.

I encourage questions, of either the Doctor or me, on the day's class, and I'll be happy to log with anyone who wants to. Post here if you want, or read it over and use it for yourself later. That's up to you. You can also refer to

An equally bored Kaoru sat next to him, chin held up on one hand as he idly twirled his pencil. This class was supposed to be exciting, or something, wasn't it? So far all he saw was another teacher going on about more useless things galaxies away. What could that possibly have to do with them?

From his seat next to Kaito, where he hoped at least the other trickster could help keep him from falling asleep, he tapped the magician's foot with his shoe, a slight grin as he tilted his head toward the 'poor student' whose chair had decided to play tricks. He was still wondering how Kaito did it. But he was fairly sure the other boy had. Who else would? Kaoru didn't believe in poltergeists. Those were scary tales to frighten others with.

Knowing he was found out by his friend, Kaito grinned when the class returned to boring discussions of the universe and gave his friend a mischievous wink when no one was looking. He had other tricks up his sleeve, but perhaps out of deference to a new class or the conditions weren't right, nothing else came about.

Instead, as class continued, Kaito appeared to pay minimal attention as he doodled random caricatures in his notebook and passed a message along to Kaoru at one point.

Do you have anything after this?

With a quick glance to see if their wacky teacher was watching, Kaoru passed it back quickly before going back to taking notes. He was half earnest in the note taking but got distracted any time the rambling started back up.

This is my only Wednesday class. Why? You have something planned?

Kaito on the other hand didn't quite take notes as religiously. He sat back with his his notebook open, glancing around the class every so often and kept one ear open for what the doctor said. He was exceptionally good with memorizing things like that anyway, so he didn't rely on written notes as much.

But the main thing was, this course had no exam.

Not really. I was thinking of going somewhere to hang out.
