The Doctor is sitting on the big desk at the front of the class, watching the students file in. After they have taken their seats (Or the majority of them at least) he clears his throat and leans forward.

"'Ello there, class. Welcome to Universal History 101. Hope you all brought your brains along. You're going to need them." His voice is cheery and he's got a grin like he really enjoys doing this, which may or may not be the case. Either way, he hops to his feet, walking around the desk.

"I'm Dr. John Smith, Professor of Universal History and Time and Relative Space. Right then, speaking of introductions, let's have a little role call, shall we?"

---

The following is an OOC summary of the day's class

Class summary:

The Doctor does a quick role call, asking students to give a brief introduction of themselves as per usual 'first class' standards. Mostly because he's fairly certain the other staff is still watching his class closely.

Discussion of the day covers the vast expanse of the universe and how events at one point in the universe can affect the events at another. Topics include a brief touching on the difference of lifestyle, morals, ethics and society rules between planets of various galaxies. Most notably the difference between speech-reliant planets like earth, non-verbal planets like Delphon and warring planets like Sontar. He gets a bit long winded halfway through this discussion and goes off into a rambling of the eyebrow language of Delphon and, later, the Sontaran war clones.

As the end of class comes around he makes an announcement regarding the following week's class. The first field trip. The field trip will be to China Town [Desai native]. He comments on the fact that nearly every human planet has a China-town and that the point of this field trip is to observe the way traditions hold up despite distance or time from their place of origin. Culture and tradition have a marvelous way of holding on to existence.

I encourage questions, of either the Doctor or me, on the day's class, and I'll be happy to log with anyone who wants to. Post here if you want, or read it over and use it for yourself later. That's up to you. You can also refer to

Here sat Mr D, local bar owner (and yes you have to be legal drinking age or really cute to even get in the doors). He chose a seat off to one side,, leaned back and arms crossed over his chest, so as not to interfere with classes that might help a few of these good-for-nothings learn something useful. But as soon as the Doctor started speaking, Mr D knew already that it was quite beyond the level of most who were in the room. He made special mental note of those who were able to actually follow along.

The topic of the class was (for the most part) rather interesting from the perspective of someone who's seen it all first-hand. Being a god, he wasn't tied to one planet or even one dimension exclusively. However, religious following of their pantheon had died off in most, so the Olympians abandoned the realms.

After a point, Mr D raised his hand as he'd seen students do. "Tell me, Doctor. Do you personally think the differences in lifestyle, morals, ethics, et cetera are more significant from one planet to the next? Or are the differences more significant on beings in the same situation, such as Earth or Desai, who have the same environment but choose to live differently?" It was a perspective-gaining question, not one with a real answer. And a doozy.
